7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. with rotation for call, weekends and holidays per collective bargaining agreement
Primary Duties
Operating Room Profile:
* Elective procedures Monday - Saturday, 1st and 2nd shift
* 24/7 service for urgent/emergent cases
* 12 major suites
* 1 cysto room
* 1 procedure room
* Comprehensive surgical care in all specialties except transplant: General, Bariatric, ENT, Neuro, Ortho, Vascular, Urology, Plastic/Reconstructive, Ophthalmology, Thoracic, Cardiac, and Robotic
* Up to date technology to assist and enhance the team's expertise - including the only facility in the area to offer robotic surgery and cochlear implants
* All suites equipped for minimally invasive procedures
* OR experience preferred
* Pre-op Care Unit to support the preparation of Inpatients and Outpatients with 31 bays
* Phase 1 recovery with 21 bays
* Phase 2 discharge area for ambulatory/outpatients (located in the Pre-op Care Unit)
Position Summary:
Provides patient care under direction of Operating Room Management team and individual surgeon. The nursing care is devoted to intraoperative care serving as the first assistant to the surgeon during the surgical intervention. In the event that the services of the RNFA are not required due to the lack of cases needing assistants, they may be assigned to function as a scrub or circulating nurse.
Required Education/Experience
1. Current State of Michigan Registered Nursing License.
2. BSN degree or in process of obtaining one (within 3 years).
3. Minimum three years OR experience with proficiency in scrubbing and circulating duties.
4. CNOR
5. Sucessful completion of RNFA Certification from AORN, received and maintained.
6. Minimum of 1 RNFA Skills Workshop.
