Cardiovascular Care Unit Profile:
* 33 bed unit
* Monday through Friday operation.
* This unit prepares patients for diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, cardiac catheterization procedures, vascular procedures and rhythm management.
* The staff are experienced, friendly, and the unit scores very high on patient satisfaction and competency.
* ACLS within 6 months of starting on the unit.
Position Summary:
Responsible for assessing physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient within assigned unit area and planning nursing care to meet those needs. Responsible to see that nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
Required Education/Experience:
1. Current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse.
2. Minimum of two years of experience required in a cardiac critical care unit, step down unit such as 12T, 6C, 4C, PACU, etc., or in a cardiac cathlab or in an emergency department.
3. Current ACLS certification.
4. Current BLS certification.
Preferred Education/Experience:
1. Previous experience in pulling arterial lines or venous sheaths.
2. Knowledge of Intra-aortic Balloon Pumps.
