Our Level III Trauma Center

Choose Ingham County's trauma center verified by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. McLaren Greater Lansing's trauma center is ready to deliver the best possible outcomes when a life-threatening or time-sensitive emergency arises.

Trauma Activation Criteria include:

  • Evaluation of gunshot wounds, motor vehicle collisions, falls, penetrating injuries, etc.
  • Prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgical intervention, intensive care, and stabilization.
  • 24-hour immediate coverage by emergency medicine, radiology, and critical care teams.
  • Rapid availability of trauma surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, neurologists, intensivists, and hospitalists.
  • ICU and Trauma Unit staffed with trained Registered Nurses providing specialized care.
  • Transfer agreements for patients needing comprehensive care at a Level I or II trauma center post-stabilization.
