McLaren Oakland, the 328-bed acute care hospital in Pontiac, has earned re-verification as a Level II Trauma Center from the American College of Surgeons. To achieve verified trauma level status, medical centers must meet the essential and rigorous criteria that ensure trauma care capabilities and institutional performance set forth by the American College of Surgeons—which includes having a trauma surgeon available within 15 minutes. While the Committee on Trauma does not designate trauma centers, it confirms their dedication and commitment to providing the highest quality trauma care for all injured patients.
