Patient & Visitor Information

McLaren Port Huron welcomes visitors to the hospital.

General visiting guidelines include:

Visitation hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except where noted below.
Visitors are asked to remain home if they have signs/symptoms of COVID or other illnesses.
Masks are required in specified areas of the hospital and with some immunocompromised patients (ICU, Karmanos Cancer Center, Wismer Procedure Center). Please be alert for signage.

Other guidelines to note:

Droplet Precautions (COVID-19, influenza, pertussis, meningitis):
- Limited to two visitors per day.
- Visitors ≥ 12 years old.
- Masks required in-room (patient encouraged to mask).
- Remain with patient unless asked otherwise.
Airborne Precautions (TB, measles): Visitation permitted on a case-by-case basis.

Visitation guidelines for specific units include:

Behavioral Health Unit

One visitor per patient on Wednesdays 7–8 p.m. & Saturdays 10–11 a.m.
Visitors must be over 18.

Acheson Family Birth Place

Visiting hours: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Same two visitors for labor, delivery & first three hours of recovery.
One adult support person may stay overnight.
Siblings/children (≥ 12) allowed for brief visits with adult supervision.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Visiting hours: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

General hours of operation

Main Entrance

Mon–Fri: 5:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Wismer Lab

Mon–Fri: 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Walgreens

Mon–Fri: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Emergency

The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day in the South Tower. Please follow campus directions and signage.

OB

OB patients should use the Main Entrance from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. After hours, please use the Emergency Entrance.

Surgical

All inpatient and outpatient surgery patients should use the Wismer Main Entrance.

We periodically conduct fire drills. If you hear an alarm, stay where you are. In an actual emergency, staff will notify you. The hospital is fire resistant and our employees are well-trained in safety procedures.
