In an emergency, know before you go:
When you're choosing an ER for emergency care, it's important to consider the hospital as well. McLaren Port Huron offers:
- The area's only nationally verified Level III Trauma Center
- The area's only primary stroke center, including access to stroke experts across the state through the McLaren Stroke Network
- Expertly trained staff, including RNs trained in advanced cardiac care, trauma care and stroke care
- Advanced and comprehensive heart care, including cardiac catheterization labs, minimally invasive valve replacement surgery and open-heart surgery
- Psychiatric emergency assessment services and an inpatient behavioral health unit. McLaren Port Huron's Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS) provide 24-hour-a-day clinical assessments through the Emergency Center by a psychiatric Registered Nurse. Through the assessment, it is determined what level of care would be best for the patient, and assistance is provided in finding the appropriate treatment. A psychiatrist makes the final decision regarding admission and referrals based on the symptoms of the patient. The EPS nurse will also facilitate direct admissions onto the inpatient Mental Health Unit from other facilities/offices in which the patient has been medically evaluated by a physician and found to be in need of inpatient mental health treatment.
- The area's only comprehensive birth center, the Miriam F Acheson Family Birth Place
- Advanced medical care, including on-site imaging services and ICU care
If you feel like you need emergency care, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1.
