When to see your primary care provider (PCP)
Your primary care provider (PCP) should be your first point of contact for all of your non-emergent healthcare needs. PCPs help you manage your overall, long-term health while maintaining your personal healthcare history.

When to go to the Emergency Room
The emergency department is your hub for life-threatening illness and injuries. If you are experiencing any of the following, immediately go to your nearest emergency department or call 911:
