Stacy McDougall, MSA, BSN, RN, NE-BC has been hired as the director of cardiovascular services at McLaren Macomb. She is assuming the role vacated by Loraine Cusumano, who is retiring after leading McLaren Macomb cardiovascular services for 8 years, building it into Macomb County’s leading heart program.

Effective Dec. 3, McDougall will be responsible for operations in the Mat Gaberty Heart Center, which include McLaren Macomb’s cardiac catheterization labs, electrophysiology lab, electrocardiography, cardiac rehabilitation and the heart failure clinic.

“McLaren Macomb, through its many excellent physicians and clinical staff, has established itself as a first-rate center for cardiology,” McDougall said. “I’m excited to get to work with this outstanding team and accomplished center of care.”

McDougall earned her nursing degree from Oakland University as well as MSA and health care administration degrees from Central Michigan University. Most recently, she held the position of cardiovascular services director for a 237-bed acute care hospital in Florida for four years. McDougall also previously served a similar role at Beaumont Hospital, Troy.

“In Stacy, we met someone with a drive to provide patients with exceptional cardiovascular care,” said Julia Libcke, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at McLaren Macomb. “We have confidence that the remarkable care patients have come to expect from the Mat Gaberty Heart Center will continue in her hands.”

Born and raised in Macomb County, McDougall is happy and excited to be back in Michigan with her family.

A Macomb County leader in cardiovascular care, McLaren Macomb was recently named one of the nation’s Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital by IBM Watson Health and has been recognized by the American College of Cardiology for its treatment and care of many common and chronic heart conditions.
