McLaren Health System and the Karmanos Cancer Institute are recruiting a Surgical Oncologist to join a robust service line to cover our McLaren Flint and McLaren Macomb Hospitals and their surrounding communities.  The selected candidate will step into a dynamic practice with an established patient base while working alongside another board-certified Surgical Oncologist. Additional onsite providers include clinical Hematology Oncologists, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Breast Oncologist, ENT Oncologists and Gynecologic Oncology. The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is one of 72 NCI designated sites in the US for Cancer Care.  Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan with 16 network sites providing a footprint which covers 46 of Michigan's 83 counties with a catchment area of 6.7 million people.  Karmanos includes cancer-specific scientific investigation programs and clinical trials, tumor conference and access to nationally recognized clinical experts leading treatment and research advancement.  McLaren is also one of two hospital systems in Michigan offering Proton Beam Therapy. 

Support staff at both hospitals include oncology dieticians, social workers, patient navigators, clinical trial nurses, genetic counseling, breast navigators, financial navigators, art therapy, support groups and cancer committees.

FACILITY HIGHLIGHTS


McLaren Flint is a 378-bed tertiary teaching facility located in Flint, Michigan, serving the medical needs of residents in greater Genesee County and Mideast Michigan. McLaren Flint is affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in its medical residency programs including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. McLaren Flint also maintains fellowship programs in clinical health psychology, vascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and cardiology in partnership with MSU. The hospital is certified as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a Gold Plus Comprehensive Stroke Center (Joint Commission), and a BCBSM Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery, Cardiac Care and OB services. Cancer accreditations include the American College of Radiology Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, American Society of Clinical Oncology.  McLaren Flint has a rich history of providing high quality, compassionate health care and is also the region’s leader in cardiovascular services, offering more types of surgeries and procedures than any other area hospital.
