Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is a high-precision radiotherapy technique that uses sophisticated computer programs to calculate and deliver a radiation treatment to the patient. IMRT allows the delivery of high doses of radiation which accurately conform to the tumor or to regions within the tumor while minimizing the dose to surrounding tissue and organs.
