Strong Leadership at McLaren Caro Region

  • John Hunter
    Chairman

    John was born in the old Caro hospital and grew up in Fairgrove on his family farm. He retired from the Caro Center in 2018 and then assumed the position of Executive Director at the Tuscola County Community Foundation. John is a very active volunteer and is not good at saying, “no.” He is the co-advisor of Future Youth Involvement, vice-chairperson of the Mid State Health Network Substance Use Disorder Policy Board, and Finance chairperson and member of the Caro United Methodist Church. He enjoys jumping in wherever he can provide support in order to better the community.

  • Bob Wolak
    Treasurer

    Bob is a native of Tuscola County, he grew up on a dairy farm near Kingston. In 1984 he married Chris Talaski, they have 3 adult sons and a daughter-in-law who all live in southeast Michigan. Bob recently made a bold career move when he accepted employment as a Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending with State Savings Bank. The bank is headquartered in the Traverse City Area but is looking to grow its commercial lending and business relationships throughout Michigan.

    Bob joined the MCR Board of Trustees in 2014. Other community involvement includes President (2018-19) of the Rotary Club of Caro, board member for the Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation, and Chairman of CBM, Community Bankers of Michigan.

  • Connie Koutouzos
    President/CEO of McLaren Caro Region and McLaren Thumb Region

    Connie brings over 30 years of health care experience in nursing and administration to her role as President and CEO of McLaren Caro Region and McLaren Thumb Region. Connie holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Northern Michigan University, and a Master of Business Administration from Michigan Technological University.

  • Lainey Ransford
    Trustee

    Lainey has been a Pathologists Assistant at McLaren Bay Region for over 15 years. She completed her undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University and then trained and worked in the laboratory in Pathology at both Desert Samaritan/Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona and Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. While working in Arizona, she was a researcher and was published while studying and working with a professor at Scottsdale Community College.

    Lainey completed her residency through Wayne State University and then moved to Caro, where she was an adjunct professor of nursing students, teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, and Medical Terminology. She enjoys traveling and having fun with her husband Mark and their three boys.

  • Brant Wilson
    Secretary

    Brant Wilson currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The Lighthouse Neurological Rehabilitation Center in both Caro and Traverse City. He graduated from Caro High School and earned a degree in mathematics and psychology from Saginaw Valley State University. His master's degree was completed at Ball State University. Brant spent 12 years in the educational field before transitioning to his role at The Lighthouse. He enjoys spending his time with his young family, playing the guitar, reading, hunting, fishing, and golf.
