Taking the Fight to COVID, to the Public

The McLaren Flint Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee took the fight against COVID-19 to the public on February 10 by partnering with McLaren Health Plan, the Genesee County Health Department, the City of Flint, Latinx Technology & Community Center and the faith based community for a free, live virtual panel discussion and Q&A about COVID-19 vaccinations.

The event was broadcasted live via Zoom and Facebook. Over 260 people registered for the event and over half either logged on or watched it on Facebook. The discussion was moderated by Nicole Franklin, Psy.D, ABPP, D&I committee chair and assistant medical director, McLaren Bariatric and Metabolic Institute. Guest panelists included Pamela Hackert, MD, JD, MPH, medical health officer Genesee County Health Department; Randall Taylor, PharmD, director of pharmacy McLaren Health Plan; Dennis Perry, MD, MPH, chief medical officer McLaren Health Plan; Lawrence Reynolds, MD, medical advisor to Flint’s mayor and member of the Genesee County Board of Health; Asa Ascencio-Zuccaro, executive director, Latinx Technology & Community Center; and Bishop Urundi Knox, pastor of Ebenezer Ministries.
