PGY-1 Fundamental Clinical Skills rotations are based on the ACGME Anesthesiology Program requirements..
All PGY-2 (CA-1) residents will complete a four (4) week rotation in:
The remainder of the year is dedicated to a wide variety of General and Orthopedic Anesthesiology.
PGY-3 (CA-2) residents will include exposure in the sub-specialty areas in the management of anesthesia. The remainder of the year is dedicated to training in a wide variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures. These shall include but not limited to:
The PGY-4 (CA-3) residents will be assigned the more complex anesthesia procedures of the most seriously ill patients with multiple system disease along with the following sub-specialty areas:
The primary responsibility of the McLaren Greater Lansing Anesthesiology Residency Program is to educate and train anesthesiologists. Our goal in this endeavor is to balance education and service. Several training opportunities are available for residents in the Anesthesiology program. Some of these opportunities include:

All candidates must apply through ERAS.
To be considered for a position in the program, candidates must have passed COMLEX or USMLE on the first attempt, be a US Citizen (we do not support any visas) and must have completed medical school within the last 5 years. All candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical school. They must also present official transcripts from their college of graduation and a letter of recommendation from the Dean.
The selection process is designed to be consistent and fair, based upon academic achievement, personal interview, and letters of recommendation. Once the application is complete, the applicant will be contacted by the Department of Medical Education and will be advised of the status of his/her application and if an interview is to be granted.
Formal interview dates will be scheduled in the fall for anticipated acceptance into the next academic year (usually commencing in July). Interviews are conducted by the program director, core faculty, and residents.
