Chronic venous disease (CVD): Are you at risk?

Drs. Gaborek and Mathia cut the ribbon on the McLaren Macomb Vein Center

An improper functioning of the valves in veins, chronic venous disease (CVD) causes blood to pool in the legs.

This can lead to painful and unsightly spider and varicose veins, swelling and skin color changes.

It was with this in mind that the McLaren Macomb Vein Center opened its doors in Clinton Township. Capable of treating all forms of CVD, all patients will be evaluated and procedures will be performed by Dr. Gregory Gaborek and Dr. Lynn Mathia, two board-certified general and vascular surgeons.

CVD cannot be cured and can last a lifetime. However, the condition's symptoms respond to non- and minimally-invasive treatments-all performed on-site at the McLaren Macomb Vein Center and include:
"¢ Sclerotherapy
"¢ Laser vein treatment
"¢ Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA)

Patients do not require a referral to make an appointment.

The McLaren Macomb Vein Center is located at 38770 Garfield, Suite 100, in Clinton Township. For more information, visit mclaren.org/macombveincenter or call (586) 349-1640.
