Kicking off what will become an annual celebration of health and teen empowerment, Ride Richmond 2017 debuts its inaugural ride with something for everyone.
Presented by McLaren Macomb and featuring bike rides of 1, 15 and 25 miles in and around the City of Richmond and the storied Macomb Orchard Trail, the day's proceeds will benefit A Beautiful Me to further its mission of instilling self-worth in young ladies.
The day's festivities begin at 9 a.m. on July 29 at the Richmond Community Center.
"We've been working with A Beautiful Me and have been looking for something to partner on that will add mind and body wellness to people's lives. This achieves both," said Kelley Lovati, PhD., community relations representative at McLaren Macomb, who was instrumental in organizing the event. "This bike ride will highlight the scenic beauty and natural charm of the City of Richmond and northern Macomb County."
Throughout the event, there's plenty of family fun to stick around for, including a bike decorating contest, balloon art and hair coloring.
Registration is required "“ $25 per rider, ages 4 and under ride free "“ and can be made by visiting riderichmond2017.eventbrite.com. Included with each registration is a ride t-shirt, custom medal and pre-bike morning fuel.
