Do you or a loved one live with the effects of heart disease?
If so, you know that although there is still so much to get out of this life, accommodations need to be made for the symptoms of that heart disease.
It was in that spirit that the H.E.A.R.T.S. Club was formed.
As the saying goes, "˜There's strength in numbers.' H.E.A.R.T.S. is a free support group for patients and caregivers of patients who are living with chronic heart disease.
Be it congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, recovery from a heart attack or any form of heart disease, H.E.A.R.T.S. (Health Education And Rehabilitation Teaching and Support) is led by a cardiovascular nurse practitioner trained in disease management and can advise on how best to live a rewarding life while successfully managing heart disease.
Discussion and feedback from the group is welcome and encouraged.
The H.E.A.R.T.S. Club is free for all to attend, and patients are welcome to bring their family and caregivers. The group meets on the third Thursday of every other month in classroom 3 at McLaren Macomb.
To register for the group or to learn more, call (586) 493-8844. To learn more about cardiovascular care at McLaren Macomb, visit mclaren.org/macombheart.
