Meet Jennifer
Clinical Coordinator, Joint Replacement Program

Jen was raised in New Baltimore, where she currently lives. Knowing she wanted to pursue a nursing career Jen attended Macomb Community College, where she obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing. She then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy. Jen also holds a specialty certification in medical-surgical nursing. She plans to further her education by obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner.

Jen has worked at McLaren Macomb for five years and understands that McLaren Macomb is a community-oriented hospital with a focus on patient-centered care. Jen proudly professes, "McLaren represents a place that I not only can work at but can call home."

As the clinical coordinator for the joint replacement program, Jen coordinates every aspect of the program, including developing and implementing protocols to ensure industry compliance and quality control while maintaining McLaren Macomb's designation as Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. She serves as the patient and staff educator and interacts with patients, to ensure they receive the best quality of care. She also serves as the liaison between the nursing staff, rehabilitation staff, case management and resident physicians. Jen considers herself lucky to work with an amazing team of professionals who are devoted to achieving high patient satisfaction by providing the best care possible.

What inspires and motivates Jen most about her job is "seeing the improvement in our patients by the time they are discharged. Being a part of that change is what motivates me the most!" Her advice for new employees beginning a career: "Always keeping learning! Never become someone who lives in the past. Embrace the new and the future!"

Jen co-chairs the Joint Replacement Multi-Disciplinary Committee and participates in several other clinical committees.

Jen has a 23-year-old son who graduated from Michigan State University and currently works as a software engineer in San Francisco. During her time away from work, Jen enjoys skiing and snowmobiling with her family.
