As the first hospital in Michigan to pilot Cydar Medical's Cydar Maps software, McLaren Greater Lansing’s Heart & Vascular Institute is at the forefront of innovation in vascular care utilizing augmented artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve patient care and outcomes for aneurysm repair.
Cydar Medical specializes in medical computer vision, machine learning and cloud high-performance computing. They partnered with Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology advance aortic patient treatment decisions. Cydar Maps enables clinicians to create detailed patient-specific 3D maps of their anatomy for procedure planning, image-guided navigation, and post-operative review. McLaren Greater Lansing is one of 20 sites in the U.S. (40 sites globally) to pilot Cydar.
Bringing AI to the operating room, Cydar 3D mapping technology allows vascular surgeons to predict more precisely where the weak blood vessels are in the body and produces real-time mapping during the procedure. By using this smart technology, it reduces the risk of the patient.
An aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of an artery. They form when there’s a weak area and if left untreated can burst open, leading to internal bleeding and cause blood clots that block the flow of blood in the artery.
