TUMOR BOARD TEAM
The tumor board team is made up of a group of specialists which includes medical and radiation oncologists, urologists, radiologists, pathologists, and oncology nurse navigators. This team meets during each GU MDC to discuss and develop a personal plan of care for each patient. This plan of care is then discussed with the patient and the family the same day.
ONCOLOGY SOCIAL WORKERS
Oncology social workers are available for patients and their families throughout all phases of the cancer journey to help adapt to the stresses related to their diagnosis, leaving them free to concentrate on recovery.

CLINICAL TRIALS
Karmanos Cancer Institute has more than 800 scientific investigation programs and clinical trials available, including those for protstate, bladder, and urinal cancers. Patients are given the option of participating in a clinical trial. A screening process is performed by a clinical trial specialist and physician to determine if the patient is able to participate in a specific trial.
GENETIC TESTING
Cancer genetic counseling services help the patient and their family learn about the impact their personal and family history has on their chance of developing cancer, and the risk other family members may have in getting cancer. Genetic testing also helps the patient understand prevention, early detection, and treatment options.
PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
A monthly support group is offered for current prostate cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
REHABILITATION SERVICES
Highly-trained physical and occupational therapist are available to design individualized treatment programs based on an initial evaluation and the patient’s functional goals. Genitourinary specialized therapies include pelvic pain therapy and incontinence therapy.
FINANCIAL NAVIGATOR
Financial burden can add stress and distraction from treatment for the patient and family. McLaren Greater Lansing offers assistance with the help of a financial navigator. If a patient has questions or concerns about their insurance or ability to pay your medical bill, our financial navigator can meet with them and help to answer their questions
and concerns.
