McLaren Oakland, Waterford Fire Department Host First Responders Health Screening

McLaren Oakland, the Pontiac-based hospital serving all of Oakland County, has partnered with the Waterford Fire Department to provide critical health and wellness screenings to county’s courageous and selfless first responders.

Hosted at the Waterford Fire Department (2495 Crescent Lake Road in Waterford) on Tues., Jan. 28 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the screening is open to all men and women serving as police officers, fire fighters, EMTs, or any first responder service.

“We are incredibly grateful to the fire department for this partnership and to be in the position to serve those who have so selflessly served us,” said Lorenzo Suter, McLaren Oakland President and CEO. “Considering the potential lifesaving importance of cancer screenings and the quality-of-life impact chronic conditions can have on an individual, we are grateful for this opportunity to contribute to those who give so much to all of is.”

Medical professionals from McLaren Oakland will perform screenings for lung, colorectal, prostate and skin cancers, as well as cardiology assessments. Attendees will also be afforded the opportunity to discuss any specific health concerns they may have directly with a primary care provider.
