Electrostatic sprayer in action

McLaren Greater Lansing looked to technology when rethinking its cleaning protocols to ensure that the hospital is safe to provide health care to all who need it during COVID-19.

Safety teams at multiple McLaren locations joined forces to find the best of the best in cleaning tools. They ended up purchasing multiple Victory 200ESK electrostatic sprayers, which are state-of-the-art sprayers for cleaning.

“The disinfectant that we use in the sprayer is electrostatically charged before it is sprayed, which makes the disinfectant particles cling to and completely coat all surfaces they are aimed at,” said Tony Yeo, manager of environmental services at McLaren Greater Lansing.

Unlike some other sprayers, the Victory 200ESK electrostatic sprayer has three different settings – for 40, 80, and 110 microns – allowing the person disinfecting the area to use the perfect amount for the job at hand.

“We use a higher concentration in high-traffic areas like lobbies, door handles, elevator buttons, and the emergency department,” said Yeo. “This device allows us to clean an area quickly with the peace of mind that nothing was missed.”

The environmental services team at McLaren still scrubs and deep cleans all areas of the hospital, however, the Victory 200ESK electrostatic sprayer allows them to ensure that spaces are continually being disinfected.
