Physicians with over 20 years of service honored at Gala
The Honorable Justus Scott, a leader in the Lapeer community, as well as a steadfast supporter and champion of McLaren Lapeer Region. Ensuring advanced, high-quality, health services are accessible to the Lapeer County community.
Scott is the Probate Court/Family Court Judge for Lapeer County. He received his B.A. with honors from Michigan State University and received his Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. His past service to the Lapeer community included the positions of Prosecutor, Chief Assistant Prosecutor and Assistant Prosecutor. As current chair of the McLaren Lapeer Region Board of Directors, Scott was instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition in the recent change in hospital leadership. His board oversight helped to keep the hospital in a financially-sound position, enabling reinvestment in technology, as well as programs and services to better meet the needs of patients and their families.
Scott was awarded the 2017 Outstanding Citizen Award on Saturday at the McLaren Lapeer Region Foundation’s fifth annual Harvest Moon Gala held at the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Lapeer Region in Lapeer. “He leads with impact, influence and inspiration. Impact because he gets results, influence because his passion is contagious, and inspiration because he inspires us all to do better and be better,” McLaren Lapeer Region President and CEO, Chris Candela.
