Hassan Beiz, MD, FACP
McLaren Oakland, part of McLaren Health Care and the downtown Pontiac-based hospital serving all of Oakland County through its network of health care campuses, has named Hassan Beiz, MD, FACP, as its Chief Medical Officer, effective July 17.
As an executive leader, Dr. Beiz will serve as liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration, and provide clinical and administrative oversight for patient safety, quality, and processes and procedures for the delivery of care across McLaren Oakland’s many patient services.

An internal medicine hospitalist by training, he brings experience as a physician leader across a range of roles, most recently as the medical director of clinical quality at a mid-Michigan hospital, in which he contributed to the improvement of clinical outcomes and patient safety.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Beiz was also the founding chair of his organization’s hospitalist clinical care transformation program, which led quality improvement initiatives while also serving on a number of national clinical advisory committees. He also maintained roles in academia, serving as internal medicine core faculty, residency site director, assistant program director, and assistant professor of medicine, all at the Central Michigan University College of Medicine. He also served as the founding medical director of CMU’s academic hospital medicine program.
Upon earning his degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, he completed a primary care internal medicine residency program at The University of Connecticut before returning home to Michigan as an IM hospitalist with the Oaklawn Medical Group, where he served as founding medical director of hospital medicine and chief of medicine.
