McLaren Central Michigan is pleased to announce Robert G. David has accepted the position as President and CEO effective January 17, 2022.
Robert brings an exceptional track record of success within the healthcare sector. He has 30+ years of experience in hospital operations developing and leading high performing management teams, expanding services, implementing clinical quality and patient safety initiatives and growing market share through a disciplined approach to planning, physician recruitment and ambulatory services strategies.

Prior to his new position in the McLaren system, Robert had a very successful, 25-year career with the University Hospitals (UH) system headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Most recently, he was President and Chief Patient Experience Officer at St. John Medical Center, a 204-bed hospital serving markets in northeastern Ohio. While in this position, Robert implemented strategies to grow surgical and outpatient services, recruited numerous surgical, interventional and endoscopic specialists, improved financial performance through re-engineering and efficiency initiatives and improved the hospital’s patient satisfaction scores and quality awards including CMS 5-Star recognition and a Leapfrog patient safety score of “A”.
Members of the McLaren Central Michigan board of directors along with the administrative team and medical staff participated in this selection process. Robert David succeeds Darrell Lentz who was named the President and CEO of McLaren Bay Region.
