About
Dr. Czaja graduated from Indiana University in 1985 with a BS in both chemistry and biology. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, and obtained his MD in 1989. Dr. Czaja remained at Indiana University for internship and residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as a fellowship in Cytopathology subsequently obtaining board certification in all three of these disciplines. During training Dr. Czaja participated in research in germ cell tumors, endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, and immunoperoxidase staining techniques. His research has resulted in several peer reviewed publications. Since completing training in 1994 Dr. Czaja has been consistently employed in the field, obtaining extensive experience and expertise in general surgical pathology, cytopathology, and medicolegal autopsy pathology. He also performs bone marrow biopsies and superficial fine needle aspirations when requested. Past experience includes diagnostic nuclear medicine and ultrasound guided FNA. Dr. Czaja is the past Medical Director of McLaren Bay Region Laboratory, and currently spends most of his time doing general surgical pathology at McLaren Central Laboratory in Flint, Ml, with concentrations in gynecologic, breast and gastrointestinal pathology.
