The McLaren system includes 14 hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, a 490-member employed primary and specialty care physician network, commercial and Medicaid HMOs covering more than 620,000 lives in Michigan and Indiana, home health and hospice providers, retail medical equipment showrooms, pharmacy services, and a wholly owned medical malpractice insurance company.
McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers and providers, anchored by the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, one of only 49 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S. McLaren has 26,000 employees and more than 85,500 network providers. Its operations are housed in more than 350 facilities serving Michigan and Indiana.

If your medical need can be managed by a telehealth visit, the office will assist you in scheduling an appointment.
Telehealth appointments are confidential visits between a patient (regardless of location) and provider. Patients can participate in telehealth visits using any web-camera-enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a web camera installed.
Receive an email with login instructions
Once the appointment is scheduled, the patient will receive an email from mclaren.org with a link to the “virtual waiting room” the day before the visit.
Login 15 minutes prior to your visit
On the day of the visit, the patient is contacted by a staff member from the office about 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment to assist the patient in entering the “Virtual Waiting Room”.
Courtney Kokenakes is a genetic counselor with the Cancer Genetic Counseling Service at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute where she provides genetic counseling to individuals at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes. She received her Bachelor of Science in Genomics and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University in 2010 and her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Wayne State University in 2016. Kokenakes previously worked for the University of Michigan as a research technician and lab manager in a neurology laboratory that studied metabolism. She is excited to provide genetic counseling as part of the Karmanos team and looks forward to continued involvement in research, teaching, and outreach related to public health genomics.

Close to 500 people in Detroit, Lansing, and Flint attended the 13 th Annual All Cancer Symposium on Sept. 9, 2023.
