About McLaren Oakland Foundation
In 2004, the McLaren Oakland Foundation was formed to assure philanthropic support for McLaren Oakland in providing resources to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, race and financial status, has access to advanced health care services in Oakland County. In today’s health care environment, we look to the Foundation for fundraising initiatives to provide state-of-the-art technology for our patients, to support medical and safety education, to help enhance facilities, and support community outreach programs that promote health and wellness for all.
McLaren Oakland Foundation Core Fundraising Priorities
Outstanding Medical Care:
McLaren Oakland is committed to providing the best, most advanced care possible to our patients. In partnering with Karmanos Cancer Institute, our hospital has expanded the 6th floor in the West Tower to serve patients who are in need of inpatient cancer care. McLaren Oakland has also purchased many new technologies such as the Da Vinci Xi surgical system to offer less invasive, quicker recovery surgeries to those in need of operations.
Providing Medical Education/ Nursing and Training:
Our physicians, nurses, and medical professionals are critical in our ability to provide outstand care to our patients. McLaren Oakland leverages 12 resident and 3 fellowship programs to recruit and train the next generation of doctors and nurses. McLaren Oakland also continues providing educational opportunities such as classes and evening events like Dinner with a Doc to provide the best-in-class care to our current and future patients.
Community Impact:
Many patients come to McLaren Oakland with little or no ability to pay for critical care services. With the help of our generous donors, McLaren Oakland was able to offer more than $20 million in uncompensated care to those in underserved individuals in the Oakland County area. Your philanthropic support will ensure treatment availability to those in need with diagnoses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and life threatening injuries. Along with treatment, your gift can go to other areas to assist in making a difference in the health and lives of people in our community.
