PORT HURON, Mich.–McLaren Port Huron was awarded an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national distinction that recognizes McLaren Port Huron’s achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safe, compassionate health care. The grade is based on the hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care, as well as patient experience.

Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the Leapfrog Group uses publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to hospitals twice a year. The methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
