New McLaren primary care provider: “I am a Mount Pleasant native”

Before Cece First, FNP-C, CEN, joined McLaren Central – Pickard Street Primary Care as a provider, before she became a nurse practitioner, and even before she earned her initial nursing degree from Mid Michigan College, she was a volunteer at Mount Pleasant Community Church.

Mount Pleasant is where Cece grew up, and, when the opportunity for her to play a role in the health and wellbeing of her community, she returned to do just that.

Why did you choose this profession?
I chose this profession because I want to further help people become healthier versions of themselves.

Why did you choose family practice?
I enjoy taking care of entire families and building relationships with patients of all ages. Family practice allows me to do so.

Why did you choose to practice here in central Michigan?
Mount Pleasant is my hometown, and I want to take care of the people in the community that I reside in.

Why did you choose to practice with McLaren?
McLaren is a great health organization, and they truly take care of their own. I wanted a company that made me feel valued, and McLaren has far exceeded my expectations.

What do you hope to accomplish with your practice?
I want to help patients and their families feel healthy, happy, and safe in a way that best suits their lifestyle.

What your areas of interest?
Weight loss management is something I would like to dive deeper into in the future.

How does it feel to be practicing in Mount Pleasant?
I am a Mount Pleasant native, and I plan to stay in this area for the rest of my career.
