McLaren Caro Region, part of McLaren Health Care and the critical access hospital providing for the health of its community, and its McLaren Caro Region Foundation have awarded three college-bound Cass City High School seniors with partial scholarships.
An annual recognition, three scholarships are awarded to students who intend to study toward degrees in a health care field.
The 2023 recipients:
Kylie McGrath—Plans to major in pre-med at Grand Valley State University.
Amelia Weiler—Plans to major in biomedical engineering at Lawrence Technological University.
Chloee Jaworski—Plans to major in biology at Ferris State University and pursue a career in optometry.
“To seek a career in health care takes dedication and commitment, but more than anything, it’s a sign that this individual has a desire to help and care for others,” said Connie Koutouzos, President and CEO of McLaren Caro Region and McLaren Thumb Region. “The quality these students display make them very deserving, and we wish them the very best in their higher education and career pursuits.”
Working with local high school guidance counselors, the McLaren Caro Region Foundation accept and review all scholarship applications, taking into consideration each applicant’s service to the community, academic achievement, and a submitted essay in which he or she discuss their area of interest and explain its importance in today’s society.
The McLaren Caro Region Foundation will award three more scholarships next year to the class of 2024. Students can learn more about the application process by asking their counselor.
