The McLaren Macomb Urology Residency Program is a member of the Statewide Campus System of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. It is a program across several hospital campus sites in the Metro-Detroit area that function in a collaborative, unified manner to achieve excellence in urological surgery residency training within the state of Michigan. The participating hospitals include McLaren Macomb Hospital, Beaumont Health - Farmington Hills Campus, and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. The McLaren Macomb Urology Residency Program is committed to being one of the premier training sites for urological surgery in the nation. It is committed to providing quality medical education across its participating hospitals, which function as post-graduate training institutions. The McLaren Macomb Urology Residency Program is committed to these high standards of educational excellence and provides the knowledge base, clinical training and surgical skills resulting in a high professional and personal standard for the graduating resident. The goal of the program is to assist the resident in developing the necessary knowledge, skills and values essential to becoming a competent, certified urological surgeon. Training will emphasize the developmental skills needed to serve the patients, hospital, and community and will assist the resident in becoming a strong member of the medical profession.

4 hours of protected didactic education per week, scheduled in two 2-hour blocks (Monday and Friday mornings) with urology curriculum review, board review, and lectures
Journal Club is held monthly.
Applications to the McLaren Macomb Urologic Surgery Residency program are only accepted through the ERAS system. Applications will be accepted until Friday, October 30, 2020.

We are listed in ERAS as the McLaren Health Care/Macomb/MSU, Urology (ACGME number 4802500190). This is the only place where applicants for interviews are selected. Applications are reviewed by the program administrator, program director, and associate program director. Those selected with then be contacted by the academic administrator with an invitation to interview.
Applicants will be notified to interview by invitation ONLY. The urology interviews with be held virtually. All applicants will interview with the program director and associate program director, along with any other faculty or residents the program director feels necessary. Details regarding the program will be sent out once an applicant has accepted and scheduled an interview.
Residents are required to complete one research project during their residency.
