Pain is a natural component of the healing process following illness, injury, or surgery. If it persists or is more intense than normally expected, it becomes it’s own condition and merits treatment. If ignored, or improperly treated or diagnosed, there can be a cycle of pain, depression, and inactivity. The Pain Management Center at McLaren Greater Lansing believes that with an accurate diagnosis, pain can often be eliminated or effectively managed, and quality of life can be vastly improved.

When a patient is referred to our clinic, our physician diagnoses pain through a systematic approach including a staff consultation, physical examination, diagnostic testing, psychological testing, and any other tests to determine the exact location and source of the pain. Once the source is diagnosed, the team uses a variety of innovative approaches.

NOW OFFERING: SCS Treatment for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN)

The McLaren Greater Lansing Pain Management Center now provides an alternative treatment options for patients who experience chronic pain due to DPN and are not satisfied with the relief of other treatment options. 

Through a collaboration between Pain Management’s physician, Dr. Bez, and orthopedic spinal surgeon, Dr. Clay Dorenkamp with Michigan Orthopedic Center, the Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) device is implanted under the skin and helps to interrupt pain signals from the spinal cord to the brain to offer patients relief from symptoms.
