McLaren Central Michigan (MCM) has earned the Blue Cross Blue Shield Distinction Center designation for hip and knee total joint replacement from the Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program.
Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care programs establish a nationally consistent approach to evaluating quality and safety. They incorporate measures with meaningful impact by utilizing evolving criteria within the respective specialty area. Provider quality may be evaluated using several domains within the Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement program including program structure and process, volume and outcomes.
MCM’s joint replacement and orthopedic program is comprised of specially trained nurses, physical therapists and case managers. In the last two years, MCM added two new physicians to their orthopedic medical staff resulting in the hospital having four full-time orthopedic surgeons: Charles J. Lilly, MD, Michael J. Moutsatson, DO, Benjamin A. Cox, DO and Ryan J. Lilly, MD.
“I have been a partner with McLaren for over thirty years,” said Dr. Charles Lilly. “The orthopedics program has a great team of physicians, nurses and other healthcare experts whom I have always felt proud to work alongside with to provide patient care.”
