McLaren Northern Michigan is pleased to announce that gastroenterologist, Luke M.H. McCrone, MD, has joined McLaren Northern Michigan Digestive Health, working alongside James Doull, MD.
Dr. McCrone received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of International Relations from Harvard University before continuing on for his medical degree from the University College Dublin School of Medicine in Ireland. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship from Ochsner Medical Center in Louisiana.
At a young age, Dr. McCrone had a passion for medicine. When he was six or seven years old, he told his mother he wanted to be a gastroenterologist. “I am very close with my uncle and he was a gastroenterologist,” stated Dr. McCrone. “When I got older it just seemed like it was the right path for me.”
Dr. McCrone is committed to addressing his patients’ individual needs and finding the right treatment to improve their health. “I have a passion for health and want to share it with my patients,” stated Dr. McCrone. At McLaren Northern Michigan Digestive Health, Dr. McCrone will treat a wide range of health concerns involving the digestive tract and liver including abdominal pain, swallowing disorders, ulcers, colitis, jaundice, and pancreatic disorders, to name a few.
A Canada native, Dr. McCrone enjoyed the beauty and peace that northern Michigan had to offer. “My wife and I are excited to live in an area that offers outdoor activities and a close community,” said Dr. McCrone.
In his free time, Dr. McCrone enjoys spending time with his wife Brooke and newborn daughter, Preston as well as traveling, golfing, skiing, and playing basketball and volleyball.
