McLaren Oakland hosts citywide Health & Wellness Fair

PONTIAC, Mich.—McLaren Oakland, the Pontiac-based health care provider serving all of Oakland County, in keeping to its commitment as watchful stewards of the collective community’s wellbeing, has organized a free health fair in partnership with Oakland County and The City of Pontiac.

Hosted at the UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac, no appointments or RSVP are needed for the March 31 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) event.

“Not only are we here to provide for the men, women and children of Oakland County in what may be a fearful time for them, when they’re experiencing a health issue,” said Tracey Franovich, president and CEO of McLaren Oakland, “but we also consider it part of our role and responsibility to tend to and maintain the wellbeing of our community. Providing access to care and healthcare professionals with this level of experience and knowledge is a worthy undertaking and one we’re willing and proud to commit to.”

In addition to participating in free health and cancer screenings and receiving various needed vaccinations, attendees will also be able to engage with and ask health care providers — including primary providers and mental health and specialty providers — about issues important to them.

They are also invited to attend panel discusses to hear healthcare professionals share firsthand experience, gaining knowledge that can have a positive and potential lifesaving impact in their lives.

“Oakland County is dedicated to providing access to affordable, quality health care for our residents,” said Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter. “That is why we are collaborating with our friends at McLaren Oakland and the City of Pontiac to make health care professionals and resources available to Pontiac residents for free health screenings. Healthy communities play a vital part in raising the quality of life in our county.”

Says Pontiac Mayor Tim Greimel, “The most valuable asset of any community is its people, and we are so grateful to McLaren Oakland for investing in the health and wellness of Pontiac’s residents.”

The UWM Sports Complex is located at 867 South Boulevard East, near South Opdyke Road, in Pontiac.
