Patient & Visitor Information
McLaren Port Huron welcomes visitors to the hospital.
General visiting guidelines include:
- Visitation hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except where noted below.
- Visitors are asked to remain home if they have signs/symptoms of COVID or other illnesses.
- Masks are required in specified areas of the hospital and with some immunocompromised patients. This includes the ICU, the Karmanos Cancer Center and Wismer Procedure Center. Please be alert for signage that indicates a mask is required.
Other guidelines to note:
- All patients in Droplet Precautions for illnesses such as COVID-19, influenza, pertussis, or meningitis, are limited to two visitors per day:
- Visitors should be at least 12 years of age.
- For your safety, visitors entering droplet precaution rooms must wear a mask while in the room. The patient is encouraged to wear a mask when visitors are present.
- Visitors should remain with the patient in their room, unless asked otherwise by the clinical team.
- Visitation for patients in Airborne Precautions such as TB or measles will be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
Visitation guidelines for specific units include:
- Behavioral Health Unit:
- One visitor per patient is allowed on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
- Visitors must be over 18.
- Acheson Family Birth Place:
- Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- We request that obstetrical patients have the same two visitors for labor, delivery and the first three hours of recovery after delivery.
- A support person (adult) can stay the night to help care for mom and baby.
- Siblings and other children (over age 12) are allowed for brief visits and must be accompanied by an adult throughout the visit.
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU):
- Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Wismer Lab
Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
Walgreens
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fire Safety
We periodically conduct fire drills. If you hear an alarm, stay where you are. In the event of an actual emergency, hospital staff will notify you. The hospital is fire resistant, and our employees are well-trained in safety procedures.
Parking and Directions
Cost
Self-parking is free.
Self-Parking
Patients and visitors may park in the main parking lot off Pine Grove Avenue. Directional signage for parking and how to enter the hospital campus are prominently displayed in the main parking lot.
Patient Drop-off Locations
- Hospital Patients: Use the Wismer Main Entrance from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Emergency and after hours: Use the South Tower Emergency Entrance
- Karmanos Cancer Institute Patients: Use the James Rourke Entrance
Patient Registration Parking
Patient registration for surgical services and pain management is in the new Wismer Main Entrance lobby.
Guides are available to personally escort you to your destination during peak business hours.
Additional directional signage has been placed throughout the hospital to help you get to your destination.
Emergency
The emergency room is open 24 hours per day and is located in the south tower. Please follow campus directions and signage.
OB
OB patients should use the main entrance from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. After hours, please use the Emergency Entrance.
Surgical
Patients having inpatient and outpatient surgery should use the Wismer Main Entrance.
