McLaren Central Michigan, part of McLaren Health Care and a CMS 5-star rated hospital, has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the top hospitals in Michigan as part of its America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2024 list. The inaugural consumer guide list ranks 600 hospitals from across the country, ordering them by state and Washington DC.
McLaren Central Michigan’s placement on the list ranks it among the top 15 of the state’s 130-plus hospitals.
“I couldn’t be happier and more proud of the entire team here at McLaren Central Michigan,” said Robert David, McLaren Central Michigan President and CEO. “This honor is a true testament of the compassionate care and exceptional quality to the patients we are privileged to serve. It is an honor and privilege to work with our employees and providers every day.”
Hospitals were scored based on recommendations from peers — fellow health care professionals from both in the state and outside of the state, while also not allowing recommendations for one’s employer. Patient experience, quality metrics, and patient outcomes were also weighted and considered in calculating a final ranking score.
“We are fortunate and grateful to have a team of professionals who are so attuned to the needs of the community and eager to provide for them,” said Dr. Justin Klamerus, McLaren Health Care Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer. “Rankings and recognitions are never the ultimate goal, though the confidence they provide for our community in knowing it has convenient access to high-quality health care is a benefit unto itself. My sincere congratulations to the team with McLaren Central Michigan.”
