Additional Stories of Donor Impact

Thanks to wonderful donors who supported a $150,000 Hospice campaign, a new Hospice space within McLaren Flint is now open!

The Hospice Suite features a homelike setting and provides additional space for family members to gather with their loved one. The large corner room and window with scenic views creates a calm, comfortable and inviting space for the patient. The McLaren Flint Foundation exists in partnership with the hospital. The suite enhances the patient experience in ways large and small. This project does that by establishing a warm, comforting space for hospice patients and their loved ones to spend their final days together.

McLaren Flint Foundation reaches out to local families and companies to annually support cancer patients

Healing Through Art is an art therapy collaboration between the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Flint and the Institute of Arts. Support assists in the mission to provide the highest level of care and service to patients and to surrounding communities. Last year, 374 individuals were served.

Donors show their support to the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Flint by donating a total of $50,000 for the purchase of Infusion Chairs to help patients stay comfortable

Thanks to many individual donors, 17 new infusion chairs have been purchased and installed for future cancer patients. The older, conventional recliners caused undue strain and stress for clinicians and their patients; and with donor support, the purchase helps improve the comfort and morale of cancer patients. The ability to fund these infusion chairs for the Cancer Center is due to the generosity of donors throughout the area, and the McLaren Flint Foundation is very grateful for their support.
