Welcome to McLaren Oakland Graduate Medical Education
McLaren Oakland’s Department of Medical Education stands by its mission to provide residents the skills, knowledge, and aptitudes that they need to provide patients safe, high value, and cost conscientious care in the primary and specialty health care services. McLaren Oakland offers nine residency programs and one fellowship program. In addition, experiences in numerous specialties are available to third- and fourth-year medical students. McLaren Oakland is a member of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) Statewide Campus System, a national Graduate Medical Education consortium, which creates and delivers education programs for residents and faculty. As members, all McLaren Oakland residents, fellows, and teaching attendings can hold a faculty appointment with Michigan State University.

McLaren Oakland is a 318-bed medical center that provides primary and specialty healthcare services to the greater Pontiac and Oakland County communities. McLaren Oakland has grown to a comprehensive medical network that includes outpatient and emergency room facilities in Clarkston and Oxford, in addition to an inpatient hospital in Pontiac, providing a range of clinical services including emergency and trauma care, cardiology, cancer services, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and orthopedic services. With more than 300 affiliated physicians, McLaren Oakland works with physician offices throughout Oakland County, in addition to owning a nursing home in Lake Orion. McLaren Oakland is a verified Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and has received PCI designation.
