As a patient of McLaren Flint, your care and satisfaction are our main concerns. The McLaren system includes 12 hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, an employed primary care physician network, commercial and Medicaid HMOs covering over 250,000 lives, home health care and hospice, durable medical equipment, retail pharmacy services, and a wholly-owned medical malpractice insurance company. Our team of health care professionals strives to deliver quality and personalized care, in partnership with you and your family. If there is anything you need during your stay, please speak with a member of your health care team.
McLaren Flint is a smoke-free facility. We ask that you use cellular phones in posted areas only.
While you may not be in the hospital under life-threatening circumstances, we encourage every patient and family to educate themselves about advance care planning. We encourage feedback on how we serve you and your family while you're in our care.
Lost and Found
Security services oversees found items. The patient’s care team can call security on your behalf to inquire about a missing item, visitors can ask security personnel they may come in to contact with for assistance, or they can call extension 23333 from an internal phone.
Hearing Impaired and Interpreter
Services are available and can be arranged through the patient's care team.
TV
Televisions are available in most patient rooms and this service is offered at no cost.
Phone
Phones are available in most patient rooms and are available at no charge for local outgoing calls.
Patient Pin Number
A patient pin number is provided to patients upon admission, and it is up to their discretion who they choose to share it with. A pin number is needed by family members wishing to obtain patient information by phone.
Patient Wrist Bands
Any patient receiving a service at McLaren Flint is given a wristband.
Mail (Delivery and Forwarding)
Arrangements can be made if needed.
Patient Room Service
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an essential part of your treatment and recovery. Meals are delivered to your bedside, prepared according to your doctor's orders.
Patients are served breakfast between 7 am and 8:30 am, lunch between 11:30 am and 1 pm, and dinner between 4:45 pm and 6 pm. Occasionally, your meal will be delayed if you are scheduled for a special test or treatment.
You will receive a daily menu from which to select your meal choices for the following day. If you have difficulty making menu selections, a registered dietitian is available to assist you.
If you would like to have a friend or family member eat in your room with you, a reasonably priced guest meal may be ordered through Nutritional Services.
Payment will be collected at the time of your discharge from the medical center.
Please check with your nurse before having food brought from home or restaurants.
